Storyline

Grigory Mishkin, son of Russian consulate diplomat Sergei, is murdered. Castle gets to investigate, closely 'accompanied' by domineering Russian 'security guard' Vasiliy Zhirov, apparently an spy, who has excellent contacts at State Department and is discretely part of Becket's secret team. They discover that Grigory was killed to prevent him disclosing a larger plot, which still leads to a sniper murder attempt, and dig into further secrets, while one more awaits Castle. Goofs

In the beginning of the episode, Beckett claims that Russian consulate is legally considered foreign territory. In fact, under the Vienna convention, the consulate (embassy) is on American soil, it is just excluded from US jurisdiction (cannot be searched, seized etc.) See more »

[Castle enters with a lot of shopping bags]
Alexis Castle: What is all that?
Martha Rodgers: Oh, my lord.
[chuckles]
Richard Castle: Somewhere in one of these bags is the perfect baby shower gift for Jen and Ryan. I just need your help picking which one. Ready? Ta-da!
[he shows them a baby-sized Kevlar vest with "Baby" on the front]
Alexis Castle: No.
Martha Rodgers: Is that a bulletproof baby vest?
Alexis Castle: It's completely inappropriate.

I love Castle but what the heck is this
2 November 2020 | by hyvasaloSee all my reviews

I've watched Castle many times and I always end up skipping this episode due to the gross misrepresentation of Finland. The biggest insult is the poor man's Russian accent, which is the most ridiculous accent I've heard trying to pass as Finnish. I mean Finnish people have such a specific way of speaking English that parallels pretty much no other European country. If they weren't going to go for a Finnish accent might as well have gone for a fin-sve accent, since the suspect is clearly Finnish-Swedish due to his name not being Finnish. That accent paralleled no Swedish accent either. They really should have gone generic accent if they weren't going to put in even two minutes of research. The producers got so lazy toward the end it seems.
