Unique Point of View. Unique Story. Unique Feelings.

I walked almost randomly into the theater, expecting nothing from this documentary. Well, after the first ten minutes of filming, I immediately knew that "The War In Between" was special.

The War in Between tells the story of LARC -- Lockwood Animal Rescue Centre -- the only center in the world that helps war veterans to recover from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), through a process in which these ex-soldiers become, slowly, intimate with wolves-- you heard me well, wolves.

The recovery process is simple; the veteran applies to the center and if accepted into the program, he or she, will begin to work at the Sanctuary -- 20-acres of pristine lands located in Frazier Park (CA). Through a series of maintenance activities -- mainly done in the areas where the wolves live -- the ex-soldier becomes familiar with the wolves which, eventually, choose him as a companion. And, it is at that particular moment where the magic happens. The director was able to show how these incredible creatures can perceive the pain of these soldiers, transforming that pain into pure friendship.

It's really hard to explain with words, but The War in Between deserves to be seen from audiences all over the world. The story shows the ancient relationship between man and nature in the most heartfelt way possible! WATCH IT!
