We binge-watched this show because we love James May. He's one of a very short list of people we could listen to talk about just about anything because he is amazingly witty, intelligent, and can use the English language better than almost anyone. This show has the added bonus of being family-friendly, so we got to hear actual, descriptive words as used in the not-so-distant past, rather than the gungy ones that barge in today and leave "ew" imagery.
If you couldn't care less about James, but are into engineering or manufacturing, then this show has loads of info, fun people, and great visuals. It is a documentary, so don't expect high octane entertainment, but it's definitely worth a viewing.
