Storyline

While Martha listens on the extension, Matt takes an anonymous phone call from a girl laughing about Carolee's affair with Dr. Creighton. Martha threatens to quit if Carolee is punished for unsubstantiated gossip. Matt asks Mike if he knows anything about the poison pen letters and prank phone calls, but Mike thinks his father refers to the missing strongbox. Matt cautions Mike to not get involved in the suspicions surrounding Carolee. Carl calls Mike with a tip that he's found something in the hospital incinerator. Matt and Mike find that the burned strongbox is empty, but Carolee's situation may be worse. The group contemplates leaking information that the box was found with identifiable clues.
