One of the darkest, heaviest shows out there, and so well written
Finished Breaking Bad and looking for something to fill the void? Well unless you've also exhausted the emotional roller-coaster shmorgishborg that "Better Call Saul" and "The Walking Dead" has to offer, I can't think of any other better outlet than "Ozark."
This show is INTENSE. One of the great things about the show, are the characters. And everybody does a fantastic job acting, no matter how small the role. They'll have you at the edge of your seat, nodding your head in approval, or even laughing (oh my gosh the GOGGLES in the second to last episode, that had me going). Great directorial decisions, phenomenal acting, especially from Julia Garner and Laura Linney. I mean, talk about a TRUE achievement for women in the world of entertainment. Personally, and not to bore anyone with my opinion in the world of social politics, but anything brought on directly by the modern feminist movement is crap. But I gotta say, these two ladies KILLED it and deserve every award possible. They stand out as talented monuments of women's achievements in the world of entertainment. Sure, Jason Batman deserves recognition too, playing the seemingly autistic genius father-gone-rogue role, a role so different from his usual forte, but those two actresses steal the show, and I look forward to any and all projects to which they are tied.
It's got emotions, it's got slow burns too, but without those, a show like this would become too redundant and predictable too quickly. It's well written, and for the average mature adult, it's well worth a watch.
