When Heather Walsh accepted a tutoring job on an isolated farm in the Mangatiti Valley in 1985 she had no idea that what first appeared to be paradise, would become a nightmare. For 6 months she would be held captive, raped, and psychologically tortured by a seasoned predator until she made a daring escape. A true New Zealand story.
This girl had serious psychological issues before she ever met this guy. This really takes Stockholm syndrome to the crazy level. I can't believe that's why she stayed. Part of her wanted to stay, there's no other explanation. I could understand if she was twelve maybe believing the things he threatened her with. All the opportunities she had to get away and didn't take and then telling us she was always plotting how to get away on foot!! She didn't want to get away.
