Quotes

Frankie Bergstein: I can't believe how mad I am that Grace made me so mad. I mean, she was so drunk, I don't even know why I was listening, although sometimes that's when the things you really mean come out. When you're not thinking. That's the whole theory behind improv.

A Study in Alcoholism
26 May 2016 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

A truly hard episode to watch as Grace (Jane Fonda) exposes her acting chops. In the previous episode, she has run from Phil after she realizes that in the deep recesses of his Alzheimers patient's wife's mind, she realizes Grace is a threat. As the boys wait to meet Jacob, Frankie goes to a bar and gets loaded. She is beyond belief, letting all inhibitions down. The bartender is the young woman that she tried to groom in an earlier episode. This is extremely sad. The boys meet Jacob and begin to size him up, much to Frankie's chagrin. During that time, Grace, desperate for booze that Frankie has hidden, ends up at a convenience store, having her car stolen, after getting into a nasty confrontation with Frankie, no holds barred. Meanwhile, Robert and Sol begin the patching up process as Robert realizes he can be unhappy or be willing to put one mistake behind him.
