In 1993, Harley's dad is shot dead and his mom goes to prison. He has to earn money and look after his 3 kid sisters. No college. Over 2 years, family secrets are slowly revealed. Will a good therapist be enough?
Remember the Space Mountain roller coast ride in Tomorrow Land at Disney World? Everything was dark. You didn't know what was going to happen next. Didn't know where it would take you? Colby was the emotional equivalent of that for me. Not so much the speed and feeling of being slung around. But the unexpected twists and turns, and ups and downs were all there. If ever there was a quiet, introspective movie capable of keeping you on the edge of your seat, this might be it. I found myself loving the character one minute, then hating her the next, then just plain feeling sorry for her. But I have to tell you, I dearly Ioved ever frame of the ride. Beautifully shot. Exquisitely paced. And Stephanie Brait's performance was refreshingly underplayed.
