Storyline

Helena Lubas is shot dead during a gun battle between her criminal boyfriend and the police and some months later Karim Benzal , who witnessed the shootings from his carpet shop is murdered. Police complaints investigator Rachel Sharpe claims there was a police cover up in the Lubas case, following information given by Karim and, whilst his widow tells Nikki he was being threatened by gangster Sakir, Rachel believes the police killed him. DI Cooke arrests Sakir but Jack's evidence shows that Sakir met a mystery man shortly before Karim's murder. Tim Friend, the officer who shot Helena, is still racked by guilt but his colleagues close rank against Rachel, who is told to drop the case. Then a member of Helena's family goes missing and a police officer is murdered at home. Written by don @ minifie-1

Goofs

When Tim Friend is practicing his shooting skills with his pistol, we see him slapping the trigger. Which is letting go of the trigger and pull it really fast. Any experienced shooter would not do this as this is very bad shooting form and very bad for accuracy. Something that (hopefully ) trained armed police would not do. See more »

Can't Wait for Part Two
9 May 2019 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

This is a really fine beginning for this episode. It starts with the shooting of a serious criminal and his female associate. She is unarmed and the police plant a gun on her. She is a member of a Polish family and it incurs some wrath when a cover-up occurs. There is also a connection to Turkish mobster and his people as well as a young journalist who is investigating the case.
