In the UK, the distributor was advised that the film as it stood would be classified 15 uncut by the BBFC. The distributor then opted to re-edit certain elements from the film in order to obtain a more audience friendly 12A classification. The cuts made removed several moments of strong, bloody violence (sight of a large blood splatter onto a window after Dr. Sethuraman is shot in the head, sight of Mani's friend being beaten heavily with a baton, sight of blood spurts as Mani is shot by Athreya, sight of Mani's arm being severed with a hatchet and all following shots of him falling and landing into the ground). Following these aforementioned changes the film was passed with a 12A rating on May 4th of that year for 'moderate violence and occasional bloody images'. See more »
As a doctor who fan, I thought the time traveling elements in the show could one day be matched in Tamil film industry. This movie came very close to it. Excellent writing and acting pave way for a new darling for critics. I really liked Surya's Psychotic killer role than his other two. As the negatives, I could say the romance and songs killed my mood multiple times. Songs are pure time dragging (Yes I know it is ARR). But I do understand the need for commercial elements. They should have released a shorter version of the movie in oversees without all that romance crap for the international audience. Overall, this movie is gold and the best ever from the actor we all admire. My rating would be 8.4/10
