Rio (Jake Schur), is forced to go on the run across the American Southwest in a desperate attempt to save his sister (Leila George) from his villainous uncle (Chris Pratt). Along the way, he encounters Sheriff Pat Garrett (Ethan Hawke), on the hunt for the infamous outlaw Billy the Kid (Dane DeHaan). Rio finds himself increasingly entwined in the lives of these two legendary figures as the cat and mouse game of Billy the Kid's final year of life plays out. Ultimately Rio is forced to choose which type of man he is going to become, the outlaw or the man of valor, and will use this self-realization in a final act to save his family.

Trivia
When The Kid awakens and sees Billy the Kid for the first time, Billy's pose closely duplicates the iconic photo which purports to be one of the very few of him. That photo shows Billy as left-handed, but it is a tintype, and therefore produces a reversed image. As a result, many movies featuring Billy have depicted him as left-handed.

Goofs
In the final scene, when Sara (Leila George) reaches for her brother's hand, there is a very large, very modern tattoo on her wrist and forearm.

"You like bluebirds? Whole world's full of 'em."

This wasn't that bad. I mean, the preformances were really strong and I found the action pretty entertaining. Because the director took inspiration from Tarantino and Sergio Leone. Where this falls flat is the script. Itdoesn't make sense a lot of the times. Also in the beginning the pacing was really bad and slow. Overall, if you look at it in a technical way it's pretty bad but the way I look at it, I found it entertaining and fun. "The Kid" gets a B.
