I wouldn't mind seeing a longer version of this story
8 April 2016 | by MartinHaferSee all my reviews

The story begins with a guy puking...something I usually HATE in films. Fortunately, it's not as vivid as this sort of thing too often is in pictures and it at least is important to the story. It seems that Gabriel is a very sick guy suffering from Leukemia. He could use a bone marrow transplant but they haven't found a match. To help boost his spirits, his wife has planned an outing to see 'Aluminum Jesus' a heavy metal band they love and saw on their first date many years earlier.

The scene now switches to Raeburn, the lead for Aluminum Jesus. He's puking too...but because he's an alcoholic and is coming off yet another bender. He's an angry lost soul and you wonder why his girlfriend sticks by him.

So how do these two stories intertwine and then lead to an incredibly ironic (perhaps too ironic) ending? See this interesting short film.

This is a lower budgeted short and because these are mostly newer filmmakers and actors, I can cut this one a bit of slack. It's NOT some slick Hollywood style production. But it IS entertaining and the story is such that I'd love to see a longer, more hashed out version. Let's hope we see that soon.
