Trivia

A powerless Kara convinces an armed man to not shoot. This mirrors a similar panel with Superman after he becomes powerless as a side effect of his new "Solar Flare" power. See more »

Goofs

This is supposed to be the first time Kara has been cut or injured since she is not invulnerable right now, yet her ears are pierced so she had to have her ears subject to being pierced at some time on Earth since she didn't have them when she left Krypton. See more »

Quotes

Kara Danvers: [after an earthquake] Alex. Are you okay?
Alex Danvers: I'm fine.
Kara Danvers: Liar.
Alex Danvers: Back at you.
Kara Danvers: Arm's broken here. Which, by the way, a warning would have been nice about how much that hurts.

A Wonderful Episode
22 August 2016 | by cwg2005aSee all my reviews

The episode "Human for a Day" is a joy to watch: the acting in this show is fun to watch, for one thing. The cast has grown nicely into their characters, which have all evolved nicely over the first few episodes. Here, every person has a scene to inhabit, and each of them fulfill the demands of the writing.

Speaking of which, the showrunner and writer's room have nicely justaposed several threads into this episode without a single stumble, not once sacrificing speed for explanation. Each scene propels the story and characters forward into a new unexpected story line. Very nicely done!

I would be amiss if I omitted a special nod to Calista Flockhart: he balancing of self-centered arrogance with a sense of justice and right for others is immaculately done. If you've never seen this series, watch for the pleasure of seeing this under-rated actor perform.

One additional treat: the appearance of Astra. Always good to see her!
