...this film is a free adaptation of a short story by Japanese Science Fiction novelist Shinichi Hoshi about a home convenience robot that starts to behave strangely, eventually showing whims and fancies like humans. The Film was done in commemoration of the 10 year anniversary of Shinichi Hoshi's death and the 50 year anniversary of his debut as author. As mentioned, is not the same script as in the anime related; in fact, have a better one. The special effects are truly good for a low budget short film and reminds me those found in late 70s series, like Sankuokai. The B&W really works here. Tadanobu Asano is the guy acting in Ichi the killer, that great gore film by Takashi Miike.
