Plot Summary

The Traveling Man is hit by a car. Over the 24 hours that it takes to cross over from this life into the next, he visits with each of eight friends. By seeing ordinary life from this view, he realizes that eternity is not something that happens to you after you die, but is a river that flows under the surface of ordinary life.
