Goofs

At 24:54, while Willowdean is reading Lucy's pageant application form, the application date, Lucy's age and Lucy's date of birth are visible. The date of birth that is shown is 5/5/79, which is incorrect. It should have been 5/5/77, assuming that Lucy was 16 years old in 1993. See more »

Quotes

Ellen: Callie is doing the pageant this year. Will's mom is the pageant director. She was Miss Teen Bluebonnet in 1991.
Callie: Rosie Dickson's your mom? Really?
Willowdean: Far as I know.
Callie: Hey, maybe sometime Elle Belle and I could come over and I could ask your mom some questions about the pageant. You know, just casually.
Willowdean: Well, unfortunately, my mom's not home all that much. She's either at pageant meetings or at the nursing home wiping old peoples' butts. It's what happens to a lot of ex-beauty queens.

Whatever Haters
9 December 2018 | by tbyrd-50088See all my reviews

Is the movie an Oscar contender? No, but who cares. The movie has a great message and it's fun. I enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. All you naysayers and haters, get some joy in your life and be entertained without tearing down. It's a movie for teens to learn the value of understanding who you are and living your best you. Something us 40 somethings need to be remind of too!
