Before and during when Renee is testing the wine glass for a fingerprint, the drops of fluid inside appear and disappear depending on the camera angle.

The events take place circa 2015. The missing file case number was 52899. Case number 52898 was dated in 2008. This means either there was a 7 year gap between the homicides, or the date on 52898 was wrong.

When Renee is confronting Jack at the cliff, from the front she has her arms up above chest level with her right hand clenched in a fist. From behind, her right arm is hanging down.

It is not possible to pull just one fingerprint from a wine glass as was shown. They are held using several fingers on the main glass part, so Renee would have lifted several prints.

Renee runs the print from the glass and this triggers a hit on her husband Jack due to his prints being on file from a prior arrest under a different name. The special agent interviews Renee and mentions this, and how the partial prints from the crime scene match Jack's print. Reneee later says her running the print was why Jack was arrested. Renee running a print would not have had any effect upon this, in fact when the partial prints were entered that would have triggered the hit from the prints already on file, not what Renee did later.

In the bar, at the end of the movie, Morgan says to Renee, you need a drink is what you need. Minutes later Renee picks up Morgan's drink while Morgan is still gone getting Renee her drink.

The Portland police employees meet on occasion at Billy Miner's Pub. That pub is located in Canada in British Columbia.

Jade was said to be an ex-drug addict. She worked as a police officer, so her background check prior to employment would have revealed this. She would never have been hired as an officer were that the case.

A crime scene investigator, notably a supervisor, would not wear her hair down while examining a body, as this could lead to cross-contamination of the evidence. Additionally, evidence is not examined under magnification while still in the plastic bag. As a supervisor, Renee would know this.

Kyle was aware of the circumstances of the first body they found, but fails to make a connection to her being found the same way his wife was found when she was murdered.

When Abbey is interviewing her, Renee says the print she took was not a legal search. That was incorrect as it was taken by her on her property with her consent. Once she entered it into the police system, it became property of the police department, so it could in fact be used in any criminal proceeding.
