Trivia

John's line, "And why did you make your character a struggling screenwriter? That's such a cliche" was inspired by a producer who was fired during pre-production for giving unwanted and unhelpful notes on the script. See more »

Quotes

Dylan: I mean, haven't you ever thought you might be worthwhile, or good enough, or whatever, just how you are- just being you?
Emily: Not even once.

A zippy satire worth checking out
27 March 2021 | by derekwallenSee all my reviews

I really dug this film. It's a tight, humorous story set in the indie scriptwriting milieu of the 323 area code. Nicely paced and shot. The dialogue's mix of earnestness and vinegary satire hit just right for me. The cast also is terrific - I especially loved Daniel Robaire as a delightful villain. Everyone involved really did the most with a limited budget and should be proud of the result.
