"God hates Cannibals"
Darkside-Reviewer22 June 2019
The only movie about a Zombie/Cannibal Cop that is so boring and uneventful I almost fell asleep.

The movie follows a few characters who each have there own small story centred around the Cannibal Cop but honestly the characters are so bland and forgettable I couldn't even remember their names while watching the movie. The main story is about a corrupt cop who kills a drug dealer who gets brought back to life as a zombie via Voodoo magic to take revenge on him he ends up biting the cop turning him into a Cannibal/Zombie who then goes on a killing spree and a very dull one at that.

The makeup for the zombie is just a bit of white blusher on the cheeks to make him look pale thats it he's not even a real zombie as he can talk and is still alive and breathing the only other "effects" or "makeup" is fake blood used in the biting scenes and thats all there is to it.

The acting is laughably bad even by independent B movie standards the editing is a complete mess and the music is just a guitar solo that's only played whenever they are filming in a public place to block out the background noise and the rest of the music sounds like it was taken from an 80s arcade beat em up like Streets of Rage or Double Dragon.

I wouldn't recommend wasting your time watching this movie but if you do wanna watch it try and find it for free.

The worst movie I have ever seen.

I must start by saying that this guy did an excellent job of making a movie with no money, sets or plot. For about half of the movie I thought he was trying to be bad on purpose, but then there are things that you would not believe could have been on purpose. Garbage.

Dreadful

Warning: Spoilers
CANNIBAL COP is a dreadful indie horror film whose plot is obviously apparent from the title alone. A violent cop is cursed via voodoo and finds himself transformed into a flesh-hungry cannibal. Expect lame gore scenes and a focus on sleaze with endless scenes of girls in their underwear being menaced. The picture definition is surprisingly high but the content is strictly bottom of the barrel.

Worth Watching for the Lead Character

Cannibal Cop (2017)

** (out of 4)

A dirty cop (Jason Crowe) goes around beating people and a local wannabe reporter decides to start filming his activities to bring him down. One of his victims ends up dying but is brought back to life by a voodoo Princess who then sends the zombie out for revenge. The detective is bitten and soon becomes the title character.

Donald Farmer really is a key figure in the shot-on-video genre that started during the 1980s and he continues to make movies with CANNIBAL COP being his latest. If you're a fan of the low-budget indie horror pictures then it's certainly worth watching thanks to some gory good fun as well as a fun lead character.

There's no question that the best thing about the movie is the lead detective character and I do wish that he had been in more of the film. Whenever he's on the screen kicking people around it's quite fun. It also fun when he finally turns into the killer and goes out looking for something to eat. The special effects are good enough to add entertainment to the movie and I'd argue that the gore really sells the picture.

CANNIBAL COP isn't a film that's going to be for everyone but it's certainly worth watching if you're a fan of this type of movie.

An uneven but ultimately enjoyable indie effort.

Donald Farmer is a man who has made quite the name for himself in the indie horror world. His work has ranged everywhere from low budget direct-to-video flicks to micro-budget shot-on- DV sleaze.

With this new effort, Farmer gives us the story of a seedy cop named Warbeck (Jason Crowe) who finds himself transformed into an undead flesheater after being imbued with unholy magic by a voodoo sorceress.

Sounds fun? Well, it is...mostly. Whenever Cannibal Cop chooses to focus on its titular character and not meandering with its dull supporting characters, it's actually a really good time. Crowe ups the sliminess really well and makes Warbeck a pretty intimidating "monster." Sadly, his scenes encompass maybe a little more than 45% of the actual runtime.

For what it's worth, I do recommend Cannibal Cop. I just think it'd be best to keep ones expectations in check and prepare yourself to savor the juicy bits of cannibal action we do get instead of expecting an all-out buffet.

"That's Freaky Deaky!"...
azathothpwiggins26 October 2019
In CANNIBAL COP, Jennifer (Channing Dodson) attempts to use her cell phone to catch cops in the act of abusing their authority. Meanwhile, officer Warbeck (Jason Crowe) is busy being a total creep, and Jennifer records him murdering a drug dealer. When said dealer is resurrected by a voodoo practitioner, Warbeck is attacked and transformed into the titular, zombie lawman. We know these guys are undead, due to the green chalk on their faces.

Now, taking police brutality to a new level, Warbeck eats his victims! Much corn syrup and red dye are expended. Can Jennifer convince the local news to use her footage? Can she convince the police to hunt down one of their own?

Cheap, cheeezier than a leaning tower of pizzas, with a hopelessly meandering finale, and sporting a redundant, yet oddly appropriate metal soundtrack, CC is fun in spots. At only 70 minutes, it's over before full brain hardening can take its toll...
