‘Pitch Perfect’ Blu-ray Trilogy a Hot Sale Item at Amazon

The Pitch Perfect movies have a very solid fan base that helped spawn a trilogy and make the term "pitches" a thing.

When the Pitch Perfect Trilogy Blu-ray goes up for sale at Amazon, pitches took notice and spring into action like nobody's business.

Amazon recently put the Pitch Perfect Trilogy Blu-ray on sale for $16.99, making each of the individual films less than $6 each in high definition. This includes Pitch Perfect, Pitch Perfect 2 and Pitch Perfect 3.

The sale price drove the Pitch Perfect Trilogy Blu-ray right into the number three position on Amazon's Blu-ray bestsellers chart. Only Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Deadpool 2 have recently sold more copies.

In fact, the Pitch Perfect Trilogy Blu-ray is currently unavailable to ship, though you can still lock in the sale price and wait several weeks for it to arrive.

Buy the Pitch Perfect Trilogy Blu-ray for $16.99 at Amazon.

Ruby Rose Exits Twitter After ‘Batwoman’ Casting Backlash, Says Fans Calling Her the Wrong Lesbian for the Role Is ‘Ridiculous’
The CW announced August 7 that Ruby Rose, the Australian actress best known for her breakout role on “Orange is the New Black,” would be leading its upcoming “Batwoman” television series in the title role, but not every fan of the comic book superhero was thrilled with the casting announcement. Angry “Batwoman” fans took to social media in the days following Rose’s hiring to slam the decision by using the hashtag #RecastBatwoman. Fans complained that Rose was the wrong LGBTQ actor to play the superhero and noted that, unlike the character in the comics, Rose is not Jewish.

Rose, currently starring on the big screen in “The Meg,” responded to the backlash by removing herself from Twitter. Rose deleted her Twitter account after sending out one final message to her followers (via Vulture): “I am looking forward to getting more than four hours of sleep and to break from

Ruby Rose Quits Twitter Following Trolling Over ‘Batwoman’ Casting

Ruby Rose Quits Twitter Following Trolling Over ‘Batwoman’ Casting
Ruby Rose has become the latest actor to abandon a social media account due to online trolling. The Australian actress, who co-stars with Jason Statham in this weekend’s global box office champ “The Meg,” quit Twitter and deactivated public comments on her Instagram account over the weekend following social media backlash against her casting as “Batwoman” in The CW’s “Arrowverse,” which was announced last week.

The openly gay actor faced a range of criticism over her casting as the character, reintroduced by DC Comics in 2006 as a lesbian of Jewish descent. Some of that criticism focused on Rose not being Jewish, but the comments that appear to have caused her to leave Twitter were those suggesting she wasn’t the right actress to play a lesbian superhero.

Before deleting her Twitter account, Rose posted a series of tweets addressing the issue, which she described as “the funniest most

Ruby Rose has been cast as Batwoman

  • HeyUGuys
xXx: Return of Xander Cage and The Meg star, Ruby Rose has landed herself the role of Batwoman in the potential new The CW TV series.

Before the series is greenlit, Rose will star in the role in the crossover event which is planned for December. The crossover will include Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow. There will then be a pilot episode of Batwoman for The CW, so the series fate will depend on the outcome of those.

Producer Greg Berlanti is currently developing. Caroline Dries has written the pilot which has Rose playing Kate Kane, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence and must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

Ruby Rose Cast As Batwoman In the CW’s DC Crossover & Potential Series

  • Deadline
Ruby Rose Cast As Batwoman In the CW’s DC Crossover & Potential Series
In one of the biggest casting coups for the CW, Ruby Rose has been tapped to play Batwoman.

The character will make her first appearance as part of The CW’s annual DC Arrowverse crossover event in December. Rose also is set to play the role in the Batwoman series the CW has in development for next season. While the project is still in the script stage, with a star of Rose’s caliber attached and DC Universe architect Greg Berlanti behind it, it is likely to go to pilot and series. (I hear the CW is not planning to use the crossover as a backdoor pilot for Batwoman but instead film a full-length pilot as it did with flagship The Flash.)

One of the draws for Orange Is the New Black alumna Rose to return to the small screen likely was the opportunity to break new ground. If the project goes to series,

‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ Sings $37M+; ‘Equalizer 2’ Targets $33M+: Saturday Update

‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ Sings $37M+; ‘Equalizer 2’ Targets $33M+: Saturday Update
It’s still a great weekend at the box office here, with both Universal’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Sony’s Equalizer 2 both over-performing besting their tracking, especially the latter.

The Ol Parker-directed original ABBA musical is looking at an estimated No. 1 win, with $37.3M while the Denzel Washington sequel scored $13.4M yesterday (including Thursday’s $3.1M), with an amazing $33.7M three-day.

One of the reasons why we’re seeing Mamma Mia 2 lower than the $40M+ figure we were spotting yesterday is because sometimes it’s hard for box office analysts to project off advance ticket sales, which in this pic’s case is fueled by the female demo. When are they exactly going to the movies? One thing is for sure, and that’s this bubble gum musical will have long legs this summer into the fall. The
