Cute lead, otherwise below average movie
flashlightreview2 October 2020
Movie starts with two young girls injecting at a party. The two seemingly normal girls live the typical teenage life with their families and regular school obligations. Both are addicted to heroin.

Other have said that the Christian element of this movie might be too strong - I don't believe this is the case. The Catholic church in this movie is part of the plot, showing that the kid doesn't have too many other people to turn to.

Overall, a below average movie with a few plot holes.

Not worth your time.

Heartwrenching
saimariejohnson19 June 2022
This is a heartwrenching story but shows the importance of paying attention to our families, our communities and most importantly, our children as it becomes clear in this story that this oversight is what relates to a huge loss of life.

Drug misinformation is alive & well
jonyen21 November 2020
Apart from being immediately suspicious of how many 10/10s this got, the film is a shocker of a frankly laughable and bizarre Reefer Madness type hard sell. I wonder is there "peer advisor" or whoever provided the drug use practices reseach information was having a cruel joke on the production.

Having seen the odd drug user in my time: i can tell you this is just plain wrong in what it portrays as (for one) injecting behaviour. Its like they picked up all the myths, since debunked, about injecting drugs and decided they were real enough for this movie. But then most people who see this film will be the just say no brigade, so I guess as long as it paints injection opioids as a one way trip to hell, that justifies liberties with the truth.

A lie is a lie, but I give this 2/10 for the fact that it deals with an important topic, however badly.

Go see Drugstore Cowboy or, if you prefer the newer or more dramatic, see Souvenirs. Better still, find Pure S***...

No punches held.

Warning: Spoilers
What I liked most about this story is how tightly woven the threads were. Right from the begining, I was sucked into the twists, and turns that ended in a way that was not your typical hollywood ending. In my view, made it more satisfying. You were left feeling different. Exposed. Vulnerable.

This no holds barred approach is why I get excited to see modern cinema. Honest. Sincere. Nothing was wasted. Nothing was held back as the story unfolded.

Thank you for making this film.

I lost my niece this year, very devastating for my family. This film is a definite must see, as it touches on how serious this issue is. I definitely will promote everyone I know to watch. Great job!

Propaganda from The Church
davexist1 October 2020
This is pure propaganda from The Church. It's sub-Lifetime Movie tripe. I guess it could somehow end up as a comedy like "Reefer Madness" but I would advise you simply avoid this dreck.

DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE! WOWZERS!
aniagabb25 October 2020
Possibly the worst film EVER MADE!

The storyline could have been soooo much better. If they had shown the girls character before the drugs and the audience built a relationship with her then you'd get it but to be honest it was awful! Characters popping out from nowhere, no backstory.

Don't waste your time!

Sno Babies was phenomenal !!!!! A roller-coaster ride and a true tear jerker but it was a fearless masterpiece of truth and life delivered brilliantly ! As a professional actor and in general I can say without a doubt this is a Oscar winning movie ! Bridget is one of the best filmmaker's of our time and a pure creative genius along with her entire cast, crew/production !!!

Yes drugs make people do terriable things
eprusulis21 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
They want a little over and above on this movie I don't think anyone especially once they've got clean would go back to shooting just to get rid of the baby it didn't really make sense if she was still on that would make a little bit more sense but she was clean for a good few months so I think it was very inaccurate

Wonderful acting
staffing-357115 October 2020
Why anyone would say this is church propaganda is beyond me. The movie only depicts a Catholic church setting- it does not push religion. The entire cast is AMAZING. Excellent work from people I was not familiar with- but I am now! Excellent story- heartfelt and well done. This should be required viewing for high schools everywhere. GREAT FILM by a female director!

Powerful!
francis-7898711 October 2020
Absolutely powerful! A movie hasn't impacted me like this in ages. For anyone who has seen first hand what addiction can do to a family and community, this is about as accurate as it gets. The filmmakers and cast did an amazing job. The two girls are tremendous! The storyline comes together beautifully at the end. WATCH THIS FILM! That's all I can say.

A Real, Raw And Relevant Movie! Definitely A Must See!
favoredbyhim11 October 2020
First and foremost the film was very, very well Written, Directed and Shot. After watching the movie, you could tell that alot of research went into this movie because it conveyed a very, very powerful message in a Real, Raw and Relevant way. This movie will definitely move its audience. The Acting was phenomenal. As the entire Cast did fantastic job, the leads Katie Kelly (Kristen) and Paola Andino (Hannah) captivated the audience with their performances as they lead the way. Everyone conveyed very, very believably real and passionate characters. This movie is definitely one for the ages as it will assist and/or serve to perhaps save lives and/or impact lives due to the subject matter. Kudos to entire Production Team, Cast and the Crew. This is an Absolute Must See Movie!

Powerful and Real
emary-536984 October 2020
This movie was so powerful and so true to life. If you've walked in this world you will know just how accurate it is. The performances, especially the lead, were AMAZING and the whole movie was so well done. I loved how the other storylines tied together at the end and gave a small break from the horror of the addiction storyline. I was truly truly moved.

Gut Wrenching, High Quality Film with Touching Message
gabifaye13 October 2020
This film with rip your heart out, then rip it out again. The actors, specifically the leads Katie Kelly and Paolo Andino deliver honest, raw performances. The film takes you on an intense emotional roller coaster depicting the disturbing realities of heroin addiction. The production value is high quality, the message the film provides of even higher value. We need more indie filmmakers like Mike and Bridget. What a duo. This film should be required for highs choolers and their parents.

I lived this...
candaceporter3028 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I unfortunately chose the wrong fork in the ride one night at the age of 14 and lived this nightmare for 5 straight years. My internal pain was so severe and I had already started doing drugs..one night someone asked if I wanted to try "cheese". I didn't know what it was exactly but I didn't even know it was heroin until like 8-9 months later. I grew up in Plano, Tx in the 90s and it was considered a "Heroin Capital". I almost didn't make it. I woke up one day and caught a real glimpse of myself in the mirror and tears fell out of my eyes and I stopped on my own and I haven't ever used again. The withdrawal lasted for a few months not days or even weeks. I never had sex for drugs or got pregnant but this portrayal of what it's like emotionally is pretty damn close. Kudos for the message from the directors.

It's Got A Strong Message But It's Average
jorgelestrada21 December 2020
Director Bridget Smith Mentions She Doesn't Write Hollywood Endings I See Why But Other Than That The Story Is Not So Much But It's Moments Where It Gets Emotional That's When It Hits Cause The Things Happened In The Movie It Can Happen In Reality Abusing Drugs Has Consequences And Quitting That Dangerous Can Literally Make A Huge Difference So Do I Recommend it...YES!

after a second revisit...i'm stunned
ops-5253514 January 2021
Rereviewed 13/11-21 To the core of my skelletal bones, i feel like ive been scollded yet again, in my innerest of emotions ripped apart from viewing this cult film that seemingly noone has seen . Im not an addict but ive lived among addicts, and this film is the most brutal and to the finger tips consequental, and such a good example of how serendipitous life can be. When the caracter says ''it was me who should lay there ''(dead in the coffin) then im really stumblin'. So a big hug to the director bridget smith, for making films like this, youre a lifesaver, and a giver of sense.

Having seen A few addiction films dealing with this epidemic, not only in the usa, has led me to view this one too, and both me and my wife sits here in shock and awe having witnessed some of the toughest and roughest kind of addictiveness in young age weve ever seen. It takes you to the highest hi, to the lowest low, til you reach the point of no return and 6 feet below is a fact...

this film is pure scary stuff to scare youth at the same age and even younger , much like ''cristiane f.'' did when i was a young adult, and im pretty hardened on stuff like this, but this was the most dire ive ever seen. Thank god im not working directly with these kind of medical issues in my profession as medical nurse, i would have ceased in promtu, cause this was extremely scary.

I praise the makers for not hiding anything away under the carpet when making this movie, and their choice of music to this film, this soundtrack and lyrics are sown into the plot as a bonus experience. Also the quick shifts from good, bad to worse and ever worst stages of life and the straining of the stories, that usually wrecks films ,do enhance the story extremely well.

So if youre an anxious parent or addicted yourself, view this before its too late, and seek help if you need too. Its a strong 9 from the grumpy old man.

Top Notch Acting!!
pmcorso23 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Going through addiction myself the acting especially Katie Kelly was unbelievable....Going through withdrawals the way Katie portrayed it as is exactly what it's like, It killed me to watch such a young, smart beautiful girl whose life spun out of control due to addiction. If you have teens this is a much watch because addiction doesn't care how old you are, how rich you are it's evil and it's so easy to hit Rock bottom. Keep in mind it's a disease nobody chooses to become an addict. Great performance with amazing acting!!!!
