Goofs
On more than one occasion in the film, a lead character uses gasoline as fuel to start a fire, but then carelessly leaves the gas can in dangerously close proximity to the open flames as he lights his matches and starts the fire. In real life it would have been extremely likely that fumes from the gas can would have ignited, being so close to the open flames, and possibly caused serious injury or death to the lead character or others nearby. Sarah:
Can you hear me? Dad, can you hear me?
Bud:
[nodding a weary yes]
Sarah:
You don't need to fight it. You can just let it all go. Everything's okay.
[pan reveals that she is speaking with a mask on]
Sarah:
I love you, dad. I do. I'm so sorry. Oh, god...

Thriller/horror/mystery has become my favorite genre recently with films like Get Out and A Cure For Wellness. There is no mystery, there is no horror-it's more of a snuff film that acts like it will become a horror mystery film but is just pointless to watch. Every seen may have tension, there seems to be a mystery, there seems like there's horror afoot but nothing pays off in the end. I regret watching this.
