  • During a live show, a man slits his wrists and arms on stage. Blood sprays into the crowd. He then throws a pig's severed head into the crowd, which two people are shown taking bites out of.
  • There are scenes of vandalism throughout, particularly church burnings.
  • Multiple scenes featuring dead animals, including: a package with a dead rat on a crucifix, a man huffing from a bag containing a dead crow, a dead cat dangling from a noose, a man prodding a dead fox in the middle of the road, and a man placing a dead rabbit outside of a church he is about to burn.
  • Several scenes of obviously fake-looking violence and gore in horror movies that characters watch on TV.
  • A man stabs another man multiple times in a disturbingly brutal and bloody dragged out 7 minute sequence.
  • A homosexual man is stabbed to death in a park at night.

Profanity

  • Around 128 uses of "f*ck" and its derivatives, sometimes in an aggressive or sexual context. Other profanity including 16 uses of "sh*t," 2 of "ass," 5 of "hell,", 2 of "dick" 1 of "bastard," 1 of "damn", a few of "piss," 1 of "pussy," 1 of "whore." Several uses of derogatory terms, including one use of "f*ggot."
  • Multiple references to Satanism and Nazism.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Social drinking and smoking throughout.
  • Various characters are seen drunk and then hungover.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Because this is black metal, this is guaranteed to be brutally intense.
  • A black metal vocalist cuts his arms and blood sprays to the crowd. He is later seen in a near-blank state while being cheered up.
  • A man (Dead) commits self-harm, by slitting his wrists and throat, and suicide, by a shotgun blow, shown in grisly and disturbingly graphic detail. The scene is dragged out for about 3 minutes.
  • It's revealed in one scene that dead hates cats and kills them just for fun, very upsetting for cat lovers
  • R18+ for High impact suicide scene and violence.

Violence & Gore

  • In a graphic and lengthy scene, a man slashes his wrists and shoots himself in the head with a hunting shotgun.
  • There are two murders in the film, both of which are depicted very graphically, with the victims being stabbed multiple times and having their throats cut.
  • After finding that his friend committed suicide, a man takes macabre photos of his friend's dead body, moving it around and posing it. The man also gives necklaces to his band mates that he says are made of bone taken from his friend's skull.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Dead's suicide scene is extremely hard to watch. He slits both of his wrists, cuts his own throat, and then blows his head off. All of this is shown in brutal detail
  • The scene where Varg kills Euronymous is intense and drawn out
  • Euronymous has several bizarre nightmares where he is haunted by Dead's death. These scenes contain several jump scares
