User Reviews
Love it or List it has a similar premise to 'Location, Location, Location' but also has enough alterations to enable it to stand on its own two feet as its own TV show.
Each episode follows a new family/couple who have different opinions on what direction they should take regarding their homes. One person feels it best to sell the house and move, whilst the other person would rather invest money into their current property to make it more liveable and also increase the market value. Kirstie Allsopp fights for the person who wants to renovate their property, by overseeing the constructional/cosmetic redevelopment of their current home;, where as Phil Spencer takes them travelling around the local areas looking at houses that they could potentially buy within their budget. At the end of each show the couples make the decision, and declare if they are to love their current renovated property or if they are to list it and buy one of the properties which have been shown to them on that episode.
The show does feel slightly fixed, the houses that are on show are often over the top and do leave you wondering how and why people would live in those conditions. There are fridges in hallways, bathrooms that haven't been cared for in many years and rooms which seems that people have gone out of their way to make them as unliveable and impractical as possible! Kirstie and Phil get a lot more on screen time together compared to their previous shows and they work very well together.
Overall this is a decent show which is entertaining enough if you are interested in property development and housing/interior designing. It feels unique enough to gain its own reputation and I imagine there will be many more series to come!
