Figure Four
3 January 2017 | by Prismark10See all my reviews

After an underwhelming first episode, the second episode is still meandering its way through 1970s grime.

Joni knows her affair has been unearthed. Mac has made sure she knows about her cheating when he beat up that mattress and then Cliff, the man she has been having sex with is found dead, crushed underneath a car. The police have questioned her and they are doggedly on the case.

Ruth, Arthur's widow is working hard at a diner and raising kids. Mac drops by to see she is doing alright. Someone else drops by to see if she is hiding the 30k in her house. Why does Mac not try to find out what Arthur did with the money, especially now he is liable for the debt.

When another job the Broker passes on to Mac and Buddy goes wrong, you do wonder how competent this organisation is?

However the hard-boiled action of a gun deal gone wrong is well staged and at least Buddy is an interesting character. He is the only person Mac could relate to, maybe he knows what Mac is going through even if Mac is not so certain.
