Shopping is never dull for Bob with Louise in tow. Bob buys jicama and Louise swears she sees an old film idol, Kojima, from their favorite traveling samurai barber - monster slayer series, "Hawk & Chick." Bob is not sure the man is actually Kojima but Louise reasons Kojima looks 100 and Bob is 80, so she has to be right. The duo goes to the Decency Inn and hears a sad story about Kojima and his daughter, Yuki, who played Chick in the series. Yuki works at Deduction Junction...what's her function? (Hooking up codes, and taxes and refunds.) Yuki is a CPA. The Belchers enlist help from Dominic, from the local theatre, and 40 or more diehard "Hawk & Chick" fans. It is a very poignant episode for two sets of fathers and their daughters. Foreign films can be so tricky: we think they're dubbing Japanese, we think they're dubbing Japanese, we really think so...or is Louise experiencing The Vapors? Written by LA-Lawyer

Did You Know?

In the first scene with Bob and Louise, after he makes the Jicima talk and the produce guy that says "don't make the food talk", in the background he can be seen mouthing the same lines as both Louise and Bob. The lines are (starting at 0m:36s) Louise: "Okay now, look!" and then Bob's line "What is it?" and then Louises line "Hawk! From Hawk and Chick!" the produce guy is clearly mouthing these same words. Earlier in the episode, Dominic says that they can hold the film screening after the last film lets out on Saturday. However, when Bob later asks Gene if it's a school night, he says yes, and that he has a test tomorrow. Even if it was past midnight, and therefore Sunday, they'd still have almost a day before returning to school. See more »

The Most Touching Episode Of Bob's Burgers
19 December 2016 | by mrsandreaandersonSee all my reviews

While the majority of Bob's Burgers shows are one hilarious thing that shouldn't be said after another, this episode is the most touching of all. Bob's family and their fascination with Hawk & Chick reflect their own feelings for each other. Nothing is more important than the love of family as they break societal rules to bring a father and daughter together. Some petty illegal activities take place and, although it's wrong, it seems like the only proper moral solution. The Belcher family seems to drop everything to recreate heartfelt scenes of a show that brought them all together. The Belchers are fully prepared to unveil their sneaky private theater viewing. A near catastrophic hiccup of their plan, forces them to wing it. The final scenes will make you hold a full bladder in anticipation of a happy ending. You might almost cry in your pants.
