Cotton Mather is taken past a stone sign for the town of Amherst in Massachusetts. The Salem witch trials took place at the end of the 17th century (over by 1693), and the town of Amherst was incorporated and named after Jeffery Amherst in 1759. Jeffery Amherst was not even born until 1717. See more
