Cameron Boyce did not participate due to starring in his own Disney XD show, Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything (2015). On Bunk'd, the reason for Luke's absence is because he's at summer school, though he does eventually make a guest appearance in two episodes.
Peyton List's (Emma) twin brother Spencer List plays Eric in the episode "Luke is Back."
The Emma-Hazel-Xander love triangle is supposed to represent the Gladys-Morgan-Christina love triangle that happened when Emma's parents and Hazel's aunt went to Camp Kikiwaka when they were 16.
Kevin Quinn, who plays Xander, performs the show's theme song in seasons 1-3.
It's confirmed in October 2017 that Kevin Quinn (Xander), Nathan Arenas (Jorge), and Nina Lu (Tiffany) have departed the show and wouldn't return for Season 3 in 2018, and that Raphael Alejandro (Matteo), Will Buie Jr. (Finn), and Mallory James Mahoney (Destiny) replace them, though Quinn's voice remains singing the theme song in the intro. It never is explained in Season 3 as to why Xander, Jorge, Tiffany, and Griff did not return to Camp Kikiwaka.
Peyton List and Miranda May (Emma and Lou respectively) share the same birthday in real life on April 6 (List being born in 1998, and May being born in 1996), which is also only two days before Skai Jackson's (Zuri) birthday on April 8.
The Ross kids had to go to summer camp as Jessie could not take care of them because it showed in the last episode of Jessie (2011) that Jessie was going to start acting, even though their mother Christina became a stay at home mom.
The intro for Season 3 was not reshot to accompany the changed Camp Kikiwaka and departure of 3 main cast members, and only featured the last few lyrics of the Theme Song. The names of the 7 Main Cast Members instead popped up during the first 30 seconds of each episode after the intro, done in a similar fashion to Dog with a Blog (2012).
Nina Lu (Tiffany) and Nathan Arenas (Jorge) make their acting debut.
Camp Kikiwaka is named after a monster that's supposed to live in the forest. Although Gladys claims that it's purely made-up, at the end of the pilot, the creature can be seen watching the camp from across the lake.
In an episode, the horror novelist Jorge and Tiffany admire is named Stephenie Queen. This is a spoof of the real life horror novelist Stephen King.
When Zuri is carrying her drawing, you can see it says Skai Jackson 2015 at the top. Skai Jackson plays the part of Zuri.
This is the 4th project that Peyton List (Emma) and Karan Brar (Ravi) work together on after Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010), Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (2012) and Jessie (2011).
Although The show focuses on teenagers at camp, Miranda May (Lou) Is 22, Kevin Quinn (Xander) is 21, Peyton List (Emma) is 20, and Karan Brar (Ravi) is 19. The rest are teenagers.
On Monday, April 2nd, 2018, Disney Channel officially announced that there will not be a fourth season. The storyline for the Ross siblings concluded in August 2018 during the third season. However on November 15th, 2018, Disney Channel stated that the series will return for a fourth season with new characters (minus the three original leads) in June 2019.
Lou ( portrayed by Miranda May) is the only character in every single episode since Emma's,(Peyton List), Ravi's, (Karan Bear), and Zuri's (Skai Jackson) departure from the series keeping her the main series regular.
This is a spin-off of Jessie (2011), and the first Disney Channel Spin Off Series since So Random! (2011), which only lasted 1 Season.
Lincoln Melcher also plays Mack A. Damia on the Nickelodeon sitcom Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn (2014) as Dawn's love interest. He alternates between filming.
Camp Kiki-Slasher and Fog'd In were considered so scary, they opened with warnings stating that they were scary and young viewers might wanna watch with a parent, unlike other scary episodes like Bride and Doom and Queen of Screams.
Lou and Jorge are the only Main Cast Members not from the Ross Family in the first two seasons that had neither of their parents pay them a visit at camp.
Although she is almost always on the show, Tessa Netting doesn't have an introduction on the theme song, she is still labeled as a guest star. The same is also for Lincoln Melcher, likely because Disney Channel shows usually have up to no more than 7 Main Cast Members.
Kevin Quinn (Xander from Season 1 and 2) and Mallory James Mahoney (Destiny from Season 3) both appeared together in the Disney Channel Original Movie Adventures in Babysitting (2016).
Skai Jackson (Zuri) is the only Cast Member that's been in all episodes of both Jessie (2011) and Bunk'd (2015).
Cameron Boyce (Luke Ross), Kevin Chamberlin (Bertram Winkle) and Christina Moore (Christina Ross) are the only characters from Jessie (2011) to've made a guest appearances (as well as mentionings) at some point in Bunk'd (2015).
Both Jessie (2011) and Bunk'd (2015) have a Main Cast Member with the first name Kevin. Jessie (2011) has Kevin Chamberlin (The Ross Family's Lazy and Childish Butler, Bertram Winkle) and Bunk'd (2015) has Kevin Quinn (One of the Camp Counselors that loves to play music with his Guitar and is a Love Interest to Emma, Xander McCormick).
Season 2 was announced to be added onto Netflix on May 28, 2017, just 4 days after the final episode of that season premiered on May 24, 2017. However, it wasn't available on Netflix until June 24, 2017, almost 4 weeks after it was originally announced.
Season 3 premiered over a year after the Season 2 finale in April 2017, longer than the usual wait between season finales and season premieres of Disney Shows, and the season finished filming all of it's episodes before it even premiered.
The 3rd and last season is the shortest running time on Disney Channel to date with less than 2 months of new episodes, mainly due to having premiered 2 new episodes each week in it's runtime, running from June 18th 2018-August 10th 2018, which is shorter than the first seasons of Andi Mack (2017) (which had only 12 episodes in less than 3 months) and Raven's Home (2017) (which had only 13 episodes in exactly 3 months).
Spoilers
Every time someone has almost left Camp Kikiwaka, their reason had to do with family. Jorge almost left after getting pictures of his baby sister's second birthday and becoming homesick, Xander almost left when his Dad tried making him go into football, Lou almost left when she learned that her pet dog died, and Tiffany almost left when her mother got mad at her for lying about Camp Kikiwaka being a Camp for Geniuses.
In S2 E18, Tiffany's mom is revealed to be Caucasian which means Tiffany could be Mandarin/Caucasian mix. However in the beginning of S1 E6 titled "Can You Hear me Now", you hear Tiffany's mom scolding her on the phone in Mandarin. It could be that she happens to speaks the language well.
