In S3:E1, there are at least 3 nods to the 80's movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High; 1) moving in stereo by the cars plays during the lifeguards walk to the pool (same music as the infamous pool scene in Fast Times, 2) Dustin says his girlfriend is like Phoebe Cates only hotter, she is referenced again on the hill top, and 3) the scene where Steve feels his hat is interfering with his ability to get girls is very similar to one of Judge Reinhold's scenes where he throws his hat out the window.
