In a small town where everyone knows everyone, a peculiar incident starts a chain of events that leads to the disappearance of a child, which begins to tear at the fabric of an otherwise peaceful community. Dark government agencies and seemingly malevolent supernatural forces converge on the town, while a few locals begin to understand that there's more going on than meets the eye.

In the beginning of Season 2, when Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo

) are talking to Max (Sadie Sink
) about how she's from California and that she likes skateboards, they make a joke and throw around the word "tubular". This joke also appeared in the 1993 film Hocus Pocus
(1993) when the bullies are messing with a character also named Max. They are discussing his recent move from California and call it "tubular". See more
In the early 1980s, the lights on the kids' bicycles would have been powered by a tire-driven dynamo. The dynamo's output and thus the light level would have varied according to the bike's speed, becoming totally dark when the bike was stopped.
Additionally, as with the "flashlights" anachronism, the headlights would have been yellowish, not the blue-white of a modern LED headlamp. See more
