While facing accusations of election fraud, Alicia learns about the dark side of politics the hard way. Meanwhile, Kalinda's actions related to Cary's case threaten to get Diane disbarred, but there could be a way out.
When potential voter fraud is discovered in the State's Attorney election, Eli and Alicia take steps to stop a recount by enlisting the help of a well-respected civil rights lawyer, Spencer Randolph. Also, Diane learns she unwittingly submitted false evidence in Cary's case.
Alicia is blindsided when journalist Petra Moritz accuses the SA-elect of election fraud. Specifically, the charge is that the touch-screen voting machine were rigged to record votes for Alicia regardless of who the voter selected on the machine. Alicia is pleased however when the party machine appoints renowned lawyer Spencer Randolph to represent her. It's a seesaw battle at the hearing but in he end, party politics decides the outcome. At the firm meanwhile, investigator Andrew Wiley informs Diane that she presented false evidence in gaining Carey's release. She decides to take the bull by the horn and come clean on what's happened. Not only might she be disbarred but she faces criminal charges.
