LOVE ABOVE ALL THINGS is a passionate love story that unfolds over the course of five years. In it we witness the trials and tribulations Of Teo and Ana, their separations, reunions, euphoria, disappointments and joy. Ana cannot love any man other than Teo and Teo cannot live without Ana, but their love affair will not last, that is their destiny. Years pass and their lives continue with their peculiar love story that sometimes enlightens them and sometimes tears them down.
This movie has been sadly underrated by viewers. It is set at a pace designed to allow the audience to feel the intensity of the main character's loss and to identify with it. This is a humbling movie, one that causes the viewer to be introspective. It was not intended, IMHO, to ramp up the viewer, but instead to lead one down a path, forcing us to recognize that we, too, could one day deal with catastrophic loss that leaves one lost, trapped in confusion to the point of hallucination, self abuse and isolation. In the midst of this angst, there were moments of humor. Just like life. I felt the script was intense, intriguing, at times puzzling, though later my questions were answered. The acting was good. The filming was excellent. Tension held us through to the end. We both felt the ending was the weakest part. It needed just a bit more. I own this and will watch it again.
