Trivia

Ambrosio Spinola (a XVI Century spanish warrior) shouts the famous Die Hard line "Yippee ky-yay Motherf*ckers" in an old spanish adapted way (Yippee ky-yay Hideputas). Ramón Langa, the voice actor playing the role of Spinola, is also the famous "voice" of Bruce Willis in Spain since the early 80's. See more »

Goofs

The opening scene shows El Cid fighting in Valencia in 1079, but El Cid actually did not begin his eastern exile until 1080, and did not come near Valencia before 1087. In 1079 he would be on a mission to the king of Seville (then tributary of Castile). See more »

Quotes

Ambrosio Espínola: Yes, I made the mistake of reading in the books how my life ended, bankrupt and vilified. That is how Spain treats its heroes.
