Pilot. Eli Conners has run away from his past for the last three years. Missing father. Deranged and disowned sister... Life seemed to be looking up until he received a call from the Insane Asylum where his older sister, Ruth, has been held all these years.
Eli visits home for the first time in three years to help his mother "find a place" for all of Ruth's old things. He is surprised to see how much as changed - and how much hasn't.
Flashback to the late 90's with Ruth, Jen, and their friend Bobby, as Ruth spirals deeper into her depression, grasping for anything or anyone who she thinks will make her forget the world around her.
Eli visits Jen and enlists her help remembering what happened to Ruth and how they can save her from the darkness. Craig wakes up after haunting visions and seeks comfort the only way he knows.
