Three Segements are Fun, but they lack Originality from Previous Years,
4 December 2015 | by lesleyharris30See all my reviews

Treehouse of Horror XXVI is a good Simpsons episode with well written segments and loads of very funny scenes. It's a fun Hallween special, as they always are, the best one certainly being Wanted: Dead, then Alive, which sees Kelsey Grammar making his first appearance as Sideshow Bob, in a segment filled with gore and huge laughs as we finally see Bob killing Bart, it's a ton of fun and I could have given this episode a nine if the other ones were as good as this. Admittedly, as far as Treehouse of Horror's go, this is disappointing, one of the worst in years, the first one is the only to offer real thrills, the opening was lame and the final segment, Telepaths of Glory, is one of the weakest Halloween segments in years, the plot goes nowhere and the found footage was already used in a Paranormal Activity parody they did a few years ago, that joke didn't need to be repeated twice, and it's used to a much weaker extent here. Homerzilla was a fun parody of the Godzilla franchise, seeing Homer as a famous movie character is always enjoyable, and I liked the satire on the film industry that was used, and their obsession with sequels and franchises, it was a clever and unexpected way to take the study that differentiated it from King Homer in Treehouse of Horror III. While it may lack originality and its three segments are not as memorable as previous years, Treehouse of Horror XXVI is still a delight.

In this years Halloween special, we see what would happen if Sideshow Bob actually killed Bart, Homerzilla attacks a city, and Bart, Lisa and Milhouse gain superpowers.
