Rumoured synopsis for Pokemon: Detective Pikachu movie surfaces online

23 years after its first launch, the Pokemon franchise is set for the live-action movie treatment next year courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Entertainment with the arrival of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu.

So far, details on the project are scarce, save for the fact that Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is lending his voice to Detective Pikachu, and teaming up with Justice Smith’s Tim Goodman as the latter searches for his father.

Well, thanks to SuperBroMovies, we’ve now got an alleged synopsis for the movie, which offers some further insight into the plot:

The story begins when ace private eye Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. The Hollywood Music in Media Awards, recognizing music in film, TV, video games, commercials, and trailers, today announced nominees for its 2018 edition. Among the nominates films are Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut “A Star Is Born,” “Black Panther,” “BlacKkKlansman,” “Quincy,” and more.

The ceremony will feature presentations, performances, and a special achievement award. Past honorees include Diane Warren, Smokey Robinson, and Glen Campbell.

Hmma nominations are selected by an advisory board and selection committee which includes journalists, music executives, music-media industry professionals comprised of select members of the Society of Composers and Lyricists, The Television Academy, the AMPAS Music Branch, Naras, and performing rights organizations.

The awards will be held at the Avalon Hollywood on Wednesday, Nov. 14. A portion of proceeds benefit Education Through Music – Los Angeles.

E! People’s Choice Awards Finalists Set – Voting Open Through Oct. 19

The finalist voting for the E! People’s Choice Awards is underway through Oct. 19. The results will determine the winner in each of 43 categories for the Nov. 11 awards.

Fans can vote using various methods, including online at pca.eonline.com, through Facebook and Twitter, as well as Xfinity and Google search option. Fans can vote up to 25 times per method, per category, per day if they vote via online, Facebook and Twitter. For Google search, users must be logged into their Gmail account, and they can vote up to 25 times per session, per category. If fans vote with Xfinity, there is a limit of 10 votes per nominee, per set-top box.

People’s Choice Awards Unveils New Categories; Opens Nomination Voting

The people are ready to vote — for the People’s Choice Awards. The annual “For the People, By the People” awards show opened nomination voting today and announced an additional 13 categories to add to their robust ballot list of categories that include the best in movies, television, music, and pop culture. The People’s Choice Awards will have its inaugural telecast on E! Nov. 11 at 9 Pm Et/Pt with “Live From The Red Carpet: The E! People’s Choice Awards” kicking off at 7 Pm Et/Pt.

When Legendary Entertainment secured the movie rights to the Pokemon franchise earlier this year, it came as some surprise when it was announced that the first ever live-action film would be an adaptation of Detective Pikachu, rather than that of the main franchise.

Well, speaking to IGN, director Rob Letterman has explained why the studio chose to go down the Detective Pikachu route, explaining that the character of Ash Ketchum has featured in so many anime features that it was felt a new story would offer something fresh.
