Kate, a workaholic lawyer, has three weeks to get a haunted bed and breakfast appraised and sold. The uncooperative manager claims a spirit who lives there will not approve. With Kate's possible promotion resting on accomplishing this task, she checks in and haggles with the aforesaid Christmas spirit, who suspiciously seems awfully solid for a ghost.

The movie was filmed at the historic Proctor Mansion Inn located in Wrentham, MA. While the real inn does not have a ghost story, there is a mystery surrounding the inn. Throughout the grounds, there are several references to "Carl BFC 1861". The inn was constructed in 1861, but there is no record of anyone named Carl working on the house. The meaning behind the letters "BFC" also remain a mystery. See more
At the very beginning of the movie, Daniel looks at his pocket watch. The maker of the watch shows Charles-Hubert, Paris. That watch brand was started in 1990 and couldn't be in the time period Daniel was in at that point in the movie. See more
