Really Nice

So, I stumbled upon this on Amazon instant video, and I have to admit that I did at first watch it for shallow reasons. I thought the girl on the cover was pretty and the description seemed intriguing enough, but it actually turned out to be good beyond the pretty face and intriguing couple of sentences. With that out of the way, I also want to start by saying that I am not claiming to be an expert on what makes a film good or bad. I just know what I personally like and/or don't like... I'm not entirely sure what it is about this film, but I just like it. It's not one particular thing. It all just seems to be nicely put together. The whole thing seems to have a perfect sort of flow about it, and it's also just really nice to look at. I think it's a combination of great cinematography, smart use of music and well planned pacing that makes it have a lot of style. There's not much of a story here at all, but I think that's what makes this director good. With only a tiny bit of a story, if any at all, I still felt compelled to keep watching until the end. Hats off to the director. Short indie drama done right in my humble opinion.
