Warning: Spoilers
If you are a fan of pub quizzes, and have a good knowledge of the news events in the world, entertainment, TV, film, music, sport, technology and science, politics and much more in the year gone by, then this is a great show to watch and have fun with. Hosted by Jimmy Carr, with celebrity panellists in three teams: Melanie "Mel B" Brown (who was criticised on Twitter for being grumpy and boring) and Micky Flanagan (The Its), Sarah Millican and Kevin Bridges (Mother & Son / Local Issues), and Richard Ayoade and David Mitchell (Two Nasal Men / David Mitchell's Team / Global Issues). This quiz focused on the year 2014, with all sorts of questions to answer about the past twelve months. These questions are asked as they are, with video and sound clips, with pictures (including Say What You See), and by celebrity and mystery guests on screen or in the studio, so it really does feel like a proper quiz that you can take part in. Events in the year 2014 that were questioned and joked about, and mentioned (or pictured) included: Jason Orange leaving Take That, flooding in the South Coast of Britain, Rebekah Brooks found not guilty during the phone hacking scandal trial, the Scottish independence referendum and Prime Minister David Cameron saying The Queen "purred", the disappearance of Kim Jong-Un, Formula One boss Bernie Eccleston paying during a bribery trial, the successful landing on the Philae probe on a comet, gay marriage being legalised, Kate Bush successfully returning to the stage after 35 years, Cheryl Cole becoming Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Simon Cowell fathering baby Eric, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow describing their separation as a "conscious uncoupling", Dolly Parton playing the Benny Hill theme on the rhinestone-studded saxophone to a huge crowd at Glastonbury, Australian "bearded lady" drag queen singer Conchita Wurst winning the Eurovision Song Contest, the new version of "Do They Know It's Christmas" by Band Aid 30 to raise money for Ebola, "All About That Bass" by Meghan Trainor, Kylie Minogue replacing Jessie J on The Voice UK, Peter Capaldi playing the new Doctor Who, The Fall, Sherlock, Gogglebox (including the celebrity version), The Island with Bear Grylls, The Trip to Italy, House of Fools, Strictly Come Dancing, Life Story with Sir David Attenborough, The Jump, The Honourable Woman, Jeremy Paxman leaving Newsnight, I'm a Celebrity... Very good!
