Norway being battered by a terrible hurricane, ecologist PM Jesper Berg finally executes his life-long dream: the end of fossil fuels in favor of the new 'thorium reactor' technology. The day he festively opens the first plant, an EU ultimatum to recant his moratorium on oil and gas exploitation is backed up by a Russian special ops helicopter kidnapping him and drilling rigs being occupied. Bodyguard Djupvik finds Berg and brings him to cabinet HQ just before the belligerent deputy can order the military to resist. Instead the Russian ambassador Sidorva now dictates Norwegian politics, which Berg finds hopelessly hard to explain to reporter Thomas Eriksen, who witnessed the kidnapping.

There was a suggestion to counter the Russians with Orion aircraft. Norway has a few of them. They are anti-submarine and surveillance aircraft that have been in service for more than half a century. In the mid nineteen eighties there was a mid-air collision between a Norwegian Orion and a Russian (Soviet) fighter jet. Although damaged, both aircraft returned to base with no casualties. See more
