They find themselves partnered as inspectors in the Code Enforcement Department, where, instead of fighting crime, they’ve been relegated to handling petty code breaking, such as noise complaints, tree trimming and water misuse. It turns out “Grease: Live” is the word. According to Nielsen estimates released Friday, the live Fox musical grew 20 percent in live-plus-three viewing, up to 14.6 million viewers. That number includes VOD, Hulu, and Fox Now. The special was also available on Fox.com but that data was not immediately available. “Grease: Live” landed 12.2 million viewers when it aired on Jan. 31, handing Fox first place in both overall audience size and the key 18-49 demographic with a 4.3 rating. While all eyes were on Vanessa Hudgens, Keke Palmer and Julianne Hough's room-shaking performance during Grease: Live on Sunday night, there was an equally mesmerizing show happening behind the scenes.

Carrie Havel, the associate director for Fox's live telecast, shared a look inside the Grease: Live production room to Facebook after "a lot of people" asked what her job entailed.

"Every shot in the show was designed and scripted by our director Alex Rudzinski," Havel explained. "My job was to execute that plan. You hear me calling shot numbers and camera moves carefully coordinated with the music.
