Ed Pressman: Phantom Producer (2014)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

A lot of great information on the making of PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE is given by producer Ed Pressman in this 19-minute featurette that can be found on the Shout Factory! release of the Brian DePalma film. Pressman starts off talking about how he met DePalma and how originally he wanted to do this film before SISTERS but the director got his way. From here various stories are told about the production of the film including the aftermath where the film ended up crashing at the box office. Pressman then talks about how bad the marketing was and why they decided to try and re-release it on its own to try and find an audience for it. Other great stories including the various title changes as well as two lawsuits that were thrown at the film. If you're a fan of the movie then you're really going to enjoy this documentary because it gives you a lot of great information from all aspects of the production. This includes a lot of great behind-the-scenes stories and there's also some details shared about the SISTERS production.
