Synopsis

  • An anthology of true 'Trash' cinema. Seven segments tie together a story of corruption and conspiracy in which poor Bo, the vagrant, has found himself right in the middle of. Each segment centers around an item of trash, whose story is revealed to Bo in an empathic 'vision'.

As Bo is going about his day, searching for treasures in the trash, he is assaulted by a distressed woman. As he grabs the offending object, he is sent into an empathic trance which leads us into the first segment, "Frying Saucer".

"Frying Saucer" has a retro 50's feel befitting the name of the town, 'Retroville'. A newly wed housewife is trying to come to terms with her hard working entrepreneur husband's busy schedule. Her friends are very enthusiastic about her husband's product, but her mum has concerns about the relationship. He definitely has an ulterior motive!

The ending of this segment brings us back to the start of the film as we continue the story of Bo, with some added insight from a continuation of the alien conspiracy plot of "Frying Saucer". Bo is arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to an undisclosed location. The detective's method of concealing the location from Bo leads us to the next segment, "Grab Bag".

"Grab Bag" tells the tale of an evil little man who uses people's own desires to satisfy his Master. On exiting this segment, Bo finds himself in a dingy room to be further abused by the police. He's left to think on his situation and goes to sleep. He dreams an eerie dream, and within this dream he comes into contact with the next segment item which leads us into "CONDOMdemned".

This segment is about love, betrayal, revenge and greed. When protection goes wrong, it doesn't have a 'happy ending'! Bo is brought out of this segment by a stray dog, and he continues to dream of aliens. He is finally awoken from the dream by another feral creature. Spooked, but hungry, a mysterious item of fruit just happens to be within his reach. On taking a bite, the next segment, "The Apple That Bit Back", comes into play.

In this segment, the apple has it's own agenda. Created by a scientist for a Russian client, it's like a GMO experiment gone bad. Not able to be controlled, the apple has run amuck with lethal consequences. Bo is unable to swallow the corrupt fruit and comes around.

The next day, Bo is interrogated by the DA who shows some sympathy to the starving wretch, making the police feed him. The detective's idea of a suitable meal involves the contents of a trash can. As Bo digs in to a discarded take out container, he convulses into the next segment, "The Hungry Ghost".

"The Hungry Ghost" is based on ancient Chinese legend and finds a very hungry ghost searching for food, only to end up at a meeting of his peers to which he wasn't invited. Poor Bo has difficulty digesting this dish and is dragged back to the room as he's coming to.

At this point we get an out of this world 'shower scene', with the DA, and a conversation between her and the chief of police, who we've seen in the "Frying Saucer" segment. That night, an unexpected sympathizer comes to his aid and sneaks a straightened wire hanger through a vent. Bo grabs the hanger and is sent into the final segment, "Dr Hanger".

"Dr Hanger" has been paid to fix a problem for a young girl who has good reason to use his discreet services. To fix Bo's problem, his sympathizer has found a way into the room where Bo is being held and brings him out of this segment. Bo and companion flee into the night, with a mission in mind.
