- Cersei and Loras Tyrell stand trial by the gods. Daenerys prepares to set sail for Westeros. Davos confronts Melisandre. Sam and Gilly arrive in the Citadel. Bran discovers a long-kept secret. Lord Frey has an uninvited guest.
- Cersei and Loras stand trial for their crimes, while Jaime celebrates victory with Walder Frey at The Twins. Davos confronts Jon about Melisandre's actions, and Littlefinger reveals his intentions to Sansa. Meanwhile, Bran continues his quest for knowledge in the far North as "winter" finally arrives.
- Cersei is to be tried by the Seven, but has plans of her own. Jaime and Bronn celebrate with the Freys. Bran continues his quest for knowledge as the Three-Eyed Raven. Jon and Sansa discuss the impending Winter. Daenerys and her fleet finally make way for Westeros.
- The houses can barely stand by as a broken Loras Tyrell confesses his sins and asks to be branded into the service of the seven gods. Before her trial, Cersei has the Sept of Baelor blown up by wildfire in the cellar, killing the High Sparrow, most Tyrells, Lancel and Kevan Lannister, hundreds of minor nobles and the Faith Militant. Cersei reveals her incest with Jamie and that she killed Robert Baratheon to Septa Unella before having Ser Gregor Clegane, torture her to slow death. Distraught over beloved Margaery's death, Tommen jumps to his own. Qyburn has Pycelle killed and succeeds as queen's hand. In Dorne, Varys meets with Olenna and Ellaria, seeking an alliance between Daenerys and their Houses against the Lannisters. Davos scolds Melisandre for Princess Shireen's fire death, Jon banishes her instead of accepting her help. Led by child heirs, the Wildlings and the surviving northern houses pledge loyalty to Jon as King of the North. Sansa bitterly rebuffs Littlefinger's romantic overture.Arya kills first Walder Frey and after assuming his face tricks his sons and men into mirror vengeance for the red wedding. Sam and Gilly reach the Citadel in Oldtown, where he's assigned menial duties but sneaks into the secret section and is believed by the grand maester, who still feels no action required. Benjen accompanies Brandon and Meera to the Wall but can't go further. In a vision, Bran sees Ned finding Lyanna Stark dying after giving birth to Jon Snow during King Robert's rebellion. Jaime returns to King's Landing where Cersei crowns herself Queen of the Seven Kingdoms. Daenerys names Tyrion Hand of the Queen and sails for Westeros with the Greyjoys, her armies, and her dragons, leaving Dario Naharis and the Second Sons behind to rule Meereen until new leaders are elected.—KGF Vissers

- The trial gets underway. Loras admits to his crimes of perjury and depravity. Loras kneels before the High Sparrow to beg for mercy. He pledges his life to the Faith Militancy. He promises to abandon the Tyrell name and all that goes with it, the Lord Lordship and the claims on Highgarden. He will never marry or have any children. Cersei stayed away from her own trial. Gregor had stopped Tommen from attending the trial on Cersei's orders. Margaery suspects that Cersei is upto something and asks the High Sparrow to ask everyone to empty the Sept as fast as they can. But The High Sparrow ignores Margaery and intends to force Cersei to attend the trial, or hold the trial in her absence. The Faith Militants prevent anyone from leaving the Sept. On the day of her trial, Cersei destroys the Sept of Baelor by wildfire, killing the High Sparrow, Margaery, Mace, and Loras Tyrell (Finn Jones), Lancel, and Kevan Lannister, along with hundreds of King's Landing nobles and the Faith Militant, while Qyburn has Pycelle killed (Pycelle is stabbed to death by the children who spied for Varys and then Qyburn). Cersei personally tortures the Septa Unella. Cersei orders Gregor to rape Septa Unella, but not allow her to die. Distraught over Margaery's death, Tommen commits suicide by jumping out of the window of his cabin. Cersei is not very sorry to see Tommen dead.
In Dorne, Varys meets with Olenna and Ellaria (Ollena had traveled to Dorne on Ellaria's invitation), seeking an alliance between Daenerys and their Houses against the Lannisters. Lannisters have declared war on Tyrells as well as on Dorne.
Davos confronts Melisandre over Shireen's death (she defends herself saying that she only did what her Lord commanded her to do. She says Jon is alive because of the sacrifice. She also says she can help Jon win the war against the Night King), and Jon banishes her from Winterfell. The Wildlings, the Knights of the Vale and the surviving northern Houses pledge loyalty to Jon as the King in the North. Jon Snow avenged the Red wedding, he is the King in the North. A white raven arrives from the Citadel, finally confirming that Winter is here.
Sansa rebuffs Littlefinger's sexual advances. He wants to sit on the Iron Throne with Sansa at his side.
Walder Frey and his sons celebrate the re-taking of Riverrun at the twin castles. Jaime Lannister is in attendance and warns Walder Frey that this is the last time he loses Riverrun. It wont be returned, if they lose it again. Arya kills Walder's 2 sons, bakes them into a pie and feeds it to Walder, before killing him as well. Samwell Tarly and Gilly reach the Citadel in Oldtown. Sam presents his orders from Jon to the admin at the Citadel. Citadel had no news that Joer Mormont had died, and hence to them Jon's orders are invalid. Sam explains that Joer and Aemon are both dead. Sam is allowed to use the library till his case is discussed by the arch Maester himself. The library is endless.
Benjen accompanies Brandon and Meera as far as the Wall but is unable to pass through with them (as he is technically not dead. He says the wall has ancient magic carved into its foundations that don't allow the dead to pass). Using his powers, Brandon learns that Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark and was adopted by Eddard after she died during Robert's rebellion. Lyanna was Ned's sister and married to Robert Baratheon. she was abducted by Rhaegar Targaryen, who annulled his marriage to Elia Martell and married Lyanna. During Robert's rebellion, Lyanna gave birth to Rhaegar's son, and named him Aegon. But to save him from the Lannisters & Robert, who had already killed the entire Targaryen clan, Lyanna asks Ned to adopt him. Ned takes the boy to Winterfell and raises him as Jon Snow.
When Jaime returns to King's Landing, Cersei has been crowned the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
Daenerys sets sail for Westeros with her supporters, armies, and dragons, leaving Naharis and the Second Sons behind to rule over Meereen. Daenerys explains to Daario that she cant bring a lover to Westeros. This was Tyrion's plan, since Daario would have been a liability for Daenerys in the Seven Kingdoms. Daenerys appoints Tyrion the Hand of the Queen.
