Dean Martin Celebrity Roast: Gabe Kaplan (1977)
Welcome Back Kotter's Gabe Kaplan is the one getting roasted on this episode. The roasters here include Charo, Johnny Bench, Jimmie Walker, Orson WElles, Howard Cosell, George Kirby, Red Buttons, Nipsey Russell, Milton Berle, Abe Vigoda and Billy Crystal among others. For the most part this here is another winning episode as there are plenty of nice laughs throughout the running time. Some of the best moments come from Berle who gets off some great jokes. Even Kaplan is quite funny when it's his turn to go back at those who roasted him. Martin, as you'd expect, does a nice job with his one-liners and comebacks. While this doesn't quite reach a "classic" level of entertainment it's still very good.
