Continuing the rise in quality this finale is the best episode of Season 1 and lifts the standard of the season overall near to the standard of the first season of Clone Wars.
It is not perfect, there are still some unnecessary efforts to make it 'child friendly' (I don't think children need any dumbing down of humour or content at all) but this is far more powerful and grown up than most of the season. There is some dark and dramatic material which is great.
There is an exciting and very eventful battle between the evil Inquisitor and Kanan & Ezra which is brilliant. We also get a very striking cameo appearance at the end.
It was clear that if the standard continued to build Rebels could still rise to the great standard of later Clone Wars seasons.
My rating: 9/10
