- TriviaThe moving truck in the film is a (fictional) company called Pierce, which has been in business since 1941. The name references Jack Pierce, who was Universal's classic monster make-up artist in their 30s and 40s heyday. 1941 references the year Universal's original The Wolf Man film was released.
- GoofsCharlotte picks up a car battery in the basement and carries it outside to jump start the old pickup truck. Every time she handles the battery, she picks it up easily with one hand. She shouldn't be able to do that as car batteries, particularly an older model that would be found in a long abandoned farm, weight upwards of 15 kg.

Leigh Whannell new approach on the Wolf Man isn't revolutionary and amazing, but the direction, camerawork, and some atmosphere approaches are great that still keeps the movie at least interesting.
Whannell knows how to direction horror as his works on the Saw movies, Insidious, Upgrade and so on have proven his talents. This narrative about the Wolf Man isn't new as the uses of horror cliches of characters and concepts aren't grand nor unique. But Whannell's direction and the atmosphere does offer some unique settings. Some of the tone and camerawork is quite stellar and it does offer some solid horror moments and uses of special effects.
The performances are solid. Christopher Abbott is an highly underrated actor that deserves more attention because Abbott has never given a bad performance in his career. Regarding characters, the story tries to offer some meat to it but it doesn't work because the characters don't have a strong emotional grip to it. Alongside with some bad dialogue, and some lightening moments that are fairly too dark.
Otherwise, for a horror movie in January, it's not that bad. It's just okay as it's finest.
