Plot Summary

Nothing is further from the unemployed, living alone and rather run-down Hans than taking responsibility for a baby. Hans hasn't taken responsibility for practically anything for a while. He has lost contact with his divorced wife and children, and his life is increasingly slipping away into nothingness. But when he finds an almost lifeless baby in a garbage can, he feels the first active impulse in a long time. He secretly takes in the little girl, names her Felizia, and actually manages to keep her full, dry, and content. Hans is lucky, his acquaintance Wenzel supports him in his secret action and the Iranian neighbors, the Tarsi couple, are unexpectedly helpful. Hans prefers not to give up Felizia at all, because he thinks a new start is possible with the little one. He suppresses the suspicion that this coexistence cannot last, although he soon learns that he has to beware of the police because the baby is now missing and his mother faces murder charges. But can Hans really keep a stranger's child for his new beginning? Written by ARD Das Erste
