Storyline

If there's one thing that the men of Rockford Texas love as much as their women, it's their guns. But when a gun incident at a neighborhood school spurs one stay at home mom, Jenna (Andrea Anders), to rethink Rockford's obsessive gun culture, life in this idyllic town is turned upside-down. Much to the chagrin of her husband, (Matt Passmore), Jenna ignites a movement by recruiting the women to withhold sex from the men until every gun in Rockford is vanquished. A wild and hilarious showdown ensues between the sexes. As tensions and libidos rise, the men and women of Rockford must decide what's really important: keeping the peace or getting a piece.

Trivia

This plot is loosely based on the ancient Greek play "Lysistrata" written by Aristophanes and first performed in 411 BC. In the play, Lysistrata persuades the women of Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands until they negotiate a peaceful end to the Peloponnesian War.

The play has also had its story updated for movies The Second Greatest Sex (1955), Salvar Davasi (1983) and Spike Lee's Chi-Raq (2015). See more »

User Reviews

Hits all the right buttons

This movie seems to have hit all the rights buttons for the radical right/gun advocates in the US as evidenced by their rabid reviews. Unfortunately they are completely off the mark. This movie is a hilarious take on the out of control gun culture of Amerika. If it's one thing that pisses off the old white male gun-toting culture of rural Amerika it's the thought that their guns might be taken away, leaving them with their miserable excuses for a penis. 10 stars with an extra star added for really pissing off the despicable people of Texas. Pleaes cecede now before we have to build a wall to separate you from the rest of civilised society.
