A good show but could be better
24 January 2016 | by fregnnewsSee all my reviews

To keep this simple I will, without spoilers, describe what I like and don't like about this series after watching all of season one.

What I like: - I like the character development and was easily wanting to know more about each character from the start - I like the story line, it advanced well without being too predictable, I didn't know exactly what to expect next at any point.

  • The cast is well chosen, each played their roles well What I didn't like: - I quickly got a sense that the show was sensitive to being "politically correct" which, I felt, held it back from what it could have accomplished - I also got the sense that the characters were chosen to make the series inclusive of all races intentionally. While not necessarily a bad goal to have it just didn't work with this series in my opinion. There are several "groups" of people in this series, ie: Russians, Norweigans, special operations forces, terrorist etc, and each seemed to go out of their way to include a woman, an ethnic minority, a child etc making it all unrealistic in this series.

I'm all for including everyone, if it works, otherwise it detracts from the show and this did for me.
